In many parts of the country there are clog paths, in this area we call these 'Ommetjes'. The detour 'From Horst to the sea' literally goes from the oldest parts of Hulshorst to the old Zuiderzee coast. You walk over old cultivated lands and through the peat meadow area between the Veluwe and the Veluwemeer coast. You walk from the enclosed landscape with old hedgerows to the open peat meadow area with beautiful views. The area is crossed by a number of winding streams, which are important for special animals and plants in this area such as the kingfisher. The area, also known as the Hierdense Poort, is also an important connection between Lake Flevo and the Veluwe. The beautiful newly constructed boardwalk through a swampy area is part of this route.

It is possible to combine this route with the 'Rondommetje Hulshorst' walking route (4.5 km), but also with the six other detours that run along the Randmeer coast. This way you can connect several detours from Harderwijk to Oldebroek and learn a lot about this special and natural area.

The walking path runs over terrain where wildlife finds shelter. To avoid disturbing the animals and to prevent the spread of animal diseases, dogs are not allowed.
Enter at your own risk: The route passes over private property. The owners have given permission to cross their land. They trust you not to leave any waste behind and to respect their property.
